This article will be completely free from any technical jargon so everyone can understand it. The purpose of this article is therefore to help everyone become aware of the main rules behind ranking well in Google results without getting into details or exhausting all possible topics related to SEO. You don’t need any technical knowledge or prior experience with SEO before reading this article.
Who Can Use This Tutorial?
Just about anyone can use this tutorial to improve their online marketing results, but it’s primarily aimed towards small business owners and entrepreneurs who want to rank well in Google for their keywords. This is because the main search engines (Google, Bing, and YouTube) are mostly written in English and they cover both US & UK domains, so if you have a local business that’s based in another country you should be able to use this advice even though it was meant for English-speaking countries.

Tip 1: Focus on The User – What Do Them Want? How Will You Satisfy Their Needs?
Most people searching Google already know what they want or at least have an idea. What they need before starting their search. For example, someone who needs a plumber will type “plumber” into Google Search Box. Someone who wants to buy a new pair of jeans will type “buy jeans” into Google Search Box explains Peter DeCaprio. And someone who needs an electrician will type something like “electricians near me” in the Google Search Box.
Don’t you think it’s better for your business if people are already aware? That they need your products or services when searching for them online? Wouldn’t it be nice if they knew how to find you before even starting their search? This is why optimizing your website around your target keywords is important — this way. When potential customers are looking for words related to your business. They’ll most likely find you when doing an online search.
You can optimize your website by putting information on it about what problems users may have. For example, if you want to rank higher in the search results for “locksmith near me”. Write an article (or pages) about home lock picking tips and tricks. People will probably love it because they’ll be able to find help on how to pick locks. By themselves without having to call up a locksmith or try random keys hoping that one of them works. Although this is just an example – the same approach can be applied to any business — not just locksmiths.
You should also make it easy for your readers to choose your products/services. For example, if you have a website with information about coffee machines. Don’t just show the product photos & descriptions but describe their benefits. So you can convince people why they need to buy your machine. Think of it as you writing a sales letter where Google becomes your client; instead of asking people to give up their credit card information and make a purchase. Google will show them your website. If it thinks that they’re interested in buying what you’re selling after reading your content (that’s the idea behind SEO).
